This pork butt recipe is perfect for any occasion. It combines tender pork with a blend of tasty vegetables, a splash of black beer, and a smoky char from the grill. Just fire up the H1, and enjoy a delicious, comforting meal, an easy recipe to impress family or friends.

 

Serves 5+

 

1 piece of 8 LB approx Pork butt
2 Onions
2 Carrots
1 or 2 cans of Black beer
500 cc Water
Salt
Pepper
Rest of the Parsley
Bay Leaf
Garlic

 

SUPPLIES:

2-3 lb of charcoal
High-Temperature Gloves
Keveri Cutting Board
Ovenproof tray (do not use glass)


PREPARATION:

 

Step 1:

Fire up the H1 in Classic Grill Mode at 350-370°F


Step 2: 

Cut the onions into quarters, the carrots into big pieces, and cut the top part of the garlic.

Step 3: 

Set the vegetables, and the pork butt in an oven-proof tray and add the black beer, water, salt and pepper, olive oil, and bay leaves. Cover with aluminum foil.

Step 4: 

Set the tray in the top rack position of the H1 for about 2 hours.


Step 5: 

Uncover the tray and add a wood chunk over the charcoal. Cook for 1 more hour, or until you have the perfect char! Remember to baste every 20-30 minutes.

 

   

Cook's Notes:

Let your imagination take flight! You can swap the beer for red wine or any kind of beer that you like.
