We know that when talking about Thanksgiving sides the possibilities are extensive. Still, stuffing is a beloved option to accompany turkey, bringing a delightful blend of flavors and textures.
This recipe features a savory mix of bread, aromatic herbs, and flavorful ingredients creating a comforting dish that warms the heart.

Let’s dive into the steps to create delicious stuffing with everyone coming back for seconds!

INGREDIENTS:

Serves 5+

600 g Sandwich bread
115 g Butter
340 g Sage sausage( remove from casing)
17 oz Chicken broth
2 Eggs
½ Onion
1 Garlic clove
1 Stick of celery
2 Tablespoons of sage leaves
1 Tablespoon of fresh rosemary
1 Tablespoon of fresh thyme
⅛ cup of minced parsley

SUPPLIES:

2-3 lb of lump charcoal
High-Temperature Gloves

INSTRUCTIONS:

 Step 1:

Fire up the H1 in Classic Grill Mode at 300°F  according to the manual instructions or the Masterclass video.

Step 2:

Cut the bread into small cubes (approximately 1 inch). Set them in an oven-proof tray in the bottom rack position of the H1 for 20 minutes. They should feel dry but not too brown.

Step 3:

Dice the onion, celery sticks, sage leaves and thyme.

Step 4:

Melt the butter in a pot or big skillet, then add the sausage and mash with a potato masher to break it up into fine pieces.

Step 5:

Place the pot with the sausage into the H1 for about 8 minutes or until it is cooked.
Add the vegetables and stir a little bit.

Step 6:

Remove from the H1 and incorporate half of the amount of the chicken broth.
Add the rest of the chicken broth in another bowl, and the eggs and whisk gently. Incorporate the parsley and mix.

Combine with sausage preparation.

Step 7:

Incorporate the bread cubes into the bowl’s mix, start with a small amount and mix. Repeat until you get all the bread into the bowl.

Step 8:

Transfer the mix to an ovenproof tray and cover with foil.

Step 9:

Set in the top rack position of the H1 at 300°F cover in foil for about 45 minutes or until the internal temperature is 150°F.
Then, remove the foil and cook for 15 to 20 minutes.

Cook's Notes:

Stuffing is not only for Thanksgiving dinner. Exchange some ingredients and create different versions of this dish. Don´t forget stuffing the rest of the year and use it as a side for other main dishes.
